GROENER Kringel und Wickler im Nebel Video Die Künstlerin Mariola Groener und der Tänzer/Choreograf Günther Wilhelm arbeiten unter dem Namen WILHELM GROENER seit 2001 zusammen. Günther Wilhelm war langjähriges Mitglied von VA Wölfls NEUER TANZ. 2002 erhielt er das Arbeitsstipendium der Stiftung Kulturfonds und 2003 das Berliner Tanz/Choreografiestipendium. Mariola Groener zeigte ihre Arbeiten u.a. in Berlin, Hamburg, Essen, Mailand, London und Neuseeland. 2002 gründete sie zusammen mit dem Künstler Ben Cottrell den Projekt- und Ausstellungsraum "forever and a day Büro". Im Hebbel am Ufer zeigten WILHELM GROENER "TEXTUR/tour de force" (2004), "on the fly" (2004), "Paravent privé" (2005) (eingeladen zur Tanzplattform Stuttgart 2006) und präsentieren im Rahmen von Tanz made in Berlin die Uraufführung von "RE(V)UE TOTAL" im HAU 2. Kringel und Wickler im Nebel 10 Min., Videoloop Kringel und Wickler haben sich verwirrt: von dichtem Nebel umgeben fürchten sie bald um ihr Leben. Dort - ein Ausweg, schnell hinaus… dann schnackelts ihnen: Oh weh, hier gehts auch nicht raus. Sie kommen wieder am Anfang an und stellen fest: alles wiederholt sich dann. ! NebellebeN ! Statement "Das Duo Mariola Groener und Günther Wilhelm widmet sich den Grundfragen der choreographischen Raumordnung, der bewegungstechnischen Akkuratesse und ihrer medialen Spiegelungen. Und über alles wird ein feiner Schleier der Ironie, der Brechung und des Witzes geworfen. WILHELM GROENERs Arbeiten sind nüchtern und sachlich, ohne in der Abstraktion zu erfrieren. Sie lassen dem Modus des Körpers viel Raum, aber verwandeln ihn manchmal im Handumdrehen - oder genauer: im Schulterzucken in eine verhedderte Marionette. Sie erschaffen Geh- und Denkräume notfalls aus Pappkartons. Doch nur, weil man sie äußerst effektvoll niederreißen kann. So scheint immer das große Ganze in Fahrt, die Kontur, so zackig zergliedert sie oftmals daherkommt, ist immer scherenschnittartig komplett. WILHELM GROENER beharren auf dem Symmetrischen, die Formen sind radikal kalkuliert, nichts wird ohne seine Umkehrung getan. Aber die Unordnung in dieser kristallinen Welt, sie lauert überall. Günther Wilhelm was a long-standing member of VA Wölfl´s NEUER TANZ. In 2002 he received a work scholarship from the Stiftung Kulturfonds and in 2003 a dance/choreography scholarship in Berlin. Mariola Groener has shown her works in Berlin, Hamburg, Essen, Milan, London and New Zealand a.o. In 2002 she founded the project and exhibition space "forever an d a day Büro" together with artist Ben Cottrell. And all this is covered in a fine veil of irony, distortion and humour. The works of WILHELM GROENER are sober and technical without being frozen in abstraction. They allow ample space for the body´s modus, sometimes however, transforming it - in the twinkling of an eye, or better: in the twitch of a shoulder - into an entangled puppet. They create spaces to walk around in and to think in - out of cardboard boxes if necessary. But only because these can be so effectively torndown again. And so the whole great thing always seems in motion, and, the contours, as jaggedly disassembled as they might often appear, are always as complete as a paper cut-out. WILHELM GROENER insist on the symmetrical, the forms are radically calculated and nothing done without its inverse in mind. Yet, in this crystalline world, disorder lurks at every corner.
