theater [new york / berlin / tokyo] Hiroko Tanahashi und Max Schumacher FuturePRESENTation Film Installation, Videoloop von 11 nicht-synchronisierten Clips / Choreografien a 1 - 3 Minuten + "Lost Boy", 5 MIN Hiroko Tanahashi und Max Schumacher Hiroko Tanahashi ist Absolventin der Filmhochschule Tisch School of the Arts der New York University und des MFA Programms Multi Media Design and Technology der Parsons School of Design, N.Y. Max.Schumacher studierte Dramaturgie an der Humboldt Universität Berlin und Performance Studies an der New York University (MA). Die beiden entwickelten zahlreiche Performances und Installationen, die zu Theatern, Festivals und Residencies u.a. in Deutschland, Österreich, Italien, Serbien, Slovenien, Kroatien, Thailand, Korea, Japan, Singapur, den USA und in der Schweiz eingeladen wurden. In Berlin wurden ihre Arbeiten u.a. vom Dock11, dem HAU, den Sophiensaelen und Tanz im August (2004 & 2006) präsentiert. Produktion 1 Anlässlich des 11.Geburtstages der Spielstätte Dock 11 fragte Hiroko Tanahashi elf Berliner Choreografen/Tänzer nach der Zukunft des Tanzes. Wie könne man z.B. in Schwerelosigkeit tänzerische Bewegungen generieren? Und sie konfrontierte die Künstler mit einer ungewöhnlichen Kameraperspektive - der Vertikalen. Hiroko sieht futurePRESENTation als eine Momentaufnahme einer sehr heterogen arbeitenden Szene. Dennoch präsentiert sie diese Aufnahme als einen einheitlichen Lichtstrahl. Die Installation der fast zu graphischen Zeichen aufgelösten Tänzerinnen und Tänzern auf dem Boden schafft eine visuelle Einheit. futurePRESENTation reflektiert auch die Flüchtigkeit und Nicht-Dokumentierbarkeit von Performances und damit ein wiederkehrenden Thema von post theater. Kamera: Andrea Keiz Konzept post theater [new york / berlin / tokyo] besteht aus Künstlern und Wissenschaftlern verschiedener Disziplinen. In Zusammenarbeit mit Choreographen und Performern realsiert es unterschiedliche Projekte wie Installationen, Tanz- und Theater-Performances. Schwerpunkte sind orts- und anlass-bezogene Interventionen, dokumentarische, multi-mediale, und -sensorische Arbeiten. Seit 2004 gibt post theater Workshops und Seminare u.a. in Raum-Dramaturgie und Haptic Media. post theater wurde zu internationalen Festivals und Spielstätten weltweit eingeladen. In Berlin arbeitete post theater zuletzt mit Kazue Ikeda ("Haus/Home", St.Elisabethskirche) und Maren Strack ("Figure 8 Race Remix", Tanz im August 2006). post theater wurde 1999 in New York gegründet, zog mit seinem Hauptsitz 2002 nach Berlin und öffnete 2005 ein Büro in Tokyo. Produktion 2 - "Lost Boy" In der Dunkelheit schwebt ein riesenhaftes T-Shirt im Raum. Auf ihm ist eine Videoprojektion zu erkennen. Sie zeigt zwei Beine, die im Himmel tanzen. "Lost Boy” ist eine performative Installation, die sich mit dem Verschwinden eines Live Performers beschäftigt. Die Video-Installation ist typisch für den post theater Ansatz des"staging disappearance”. Wie kann man das Verschwinden inszenieren? Ausserdem interessiert post theater, was einen Performer definiert. Ab wann ist ein Objekt ein Handlungsträger, ab wann ein Tänzer? Und wer ist der Choreograph? Production For the 11th birthday of Dock 11, Hiroko Tanahashi asked 11 Berlin choreographers/dancers about the future of dance. How will dance movement be generated in the future e.g. in zero gravity? The invited artists were also confronted with an unusual perspective - that of the vertical. Hiroko sees the result as a snapshot of a highly heterogeneous scene. And yet she presents this recording as a unified ray of light. The installation of the abstracted dancers on the floor creates a visual unity. The viewer's gaze must focus on the movements if he wants to recognize the choreographers. futurePRESENTation also reflects the fleetingness and non-documentability of performance and at the same time a reoccurring theme of post theater. Concept post theater [new york / berlin / tokyo] is made up of artists and academics of various disciplines. In collaboration with choreographers and performers it produces a wide range of projects such as installations, dance and theater performances. Key elements of their work are site and occasion specific interventions, documentary, multi-medial and sensorial pieces. Since 2004 post theater has taught workshops and classes in a.o. spatial dramaturgy and haptic media. post theater has been invited to international festivals and venues worldwide.
