	_ Biographical Information Paul Robert Gazzola resides in Berlin and Perth (Australia). He trained as a carpenter before commencing dance studies in 1987 at the WA Academy of Performing Arts. Since 1990 he has maintained a career both in Australia and Europe creating a body of work from dance to performance art. He has collaborated with Douglas Dunn, Joao Fiadeiro and Meg Stuart and since 1994 with Les Ballets C de la B on the projects "Everyman", »Bonjour Madame« and most recently "»La Sortie". In 1996 he co-founded the id339dancegroup in Perth. His solo "Bird Talk #3" has played at various festivals in Australia, South Africa and Portugal and his two latest works "assisted solo #1-sampson" and "The Living Room" have both been presented at Theater am Halleschen Ufer Berlin. He is a qualified Feldenkrais practitioner.
_ Approach to Work Although his work methods and interests are as varied and individual as each project, a lot of his approach in creation is stimulated from his practice of the Feldenkrais technique; an understanding that within any creative process to wait is as equally valid as to instigate. A sense of self sufficiency is derivative within this; a broader knowledge of the human function, coupled with the understanding that our physical patterning dictates our body construct and thinking, greatly informs the process. Via this, he aims to create work that omits the unnecessary without removing the sense of the individual and the humanness in the interaction to allow emotion to exist in action.
_ Current Production	_ Future Projects Currently developing "Figure Study 122", a dance installation which will be premiered in June 2001. Further development of the performance "shaking hands = handshake" and as a dramaturge for the Australian artist Luke Pither.
