_ Christoph Winkler
	_ Biographical Information Christoph Winkler was born in Torgau. As an adolescent he won the Spartakiade in the disciplines weightlifting and judo several times. He also took part in several full-contact-competitions as a martial arts athlete. In between times he began to practice break-dance, finished his A-Levels and joined a folklore group. From which he was sent to the national ballet school. After completing his studies, he founded a girl-group, danced in various video productions for MTV and performed in several underground techno-clubs in Berlin in the early 90's. Afterwards he studied choreography at the Hochschule für Schauspielkunst Ernst Busch, Berlin for 4 years. Afterwards he earned his living not only as a bodyguard, as a hardcore DJ, as the organiser of parties and as a construction builder, but also with various choreographies for musicals, the opera and the theatre. However, in 1998 he decided to work as an independent choreographer in Berlin.
_ Approach to Work "Maybe the task is to create a dance language in the times of its impossibility. The body as the last vanishing point ­ this battle has been fought a long time ago, the artificial limbs and handicaps are omnipresent. This does not mean capitulation, but that one endures the wandering around in the fragmentation. No body says »Zero«, not only the attitude counts, but it is necessary to carefully develop a dance which points to the numerous phenomena and which includes their effects."
_ Current Production The piece "The Wandering Problem" is based on the confrontation with a psychiatric phenomenon called the "Wandering Problem". The term refers to a group of patients incessant urge to move while at the same time they loose their inner and emotional worlds. These patients also suffer from dementia. While their memory fades, they continuously wander on the same paths till at some point also the movement dies. The piece takes this phenomenon as point of departure. It was conceived as a solo and tries to formulate motives - for a "coming to an end" and deals with the moment before the halting, the span of time just before the extinguishing of all remains of a personality which at some point meant their individuality.	_ Future Projects 2001: "Fatal Attractions" - new version "Berst" _ Repertory _ "The Wandering Problem" (2000), Solo (Dancer: Ingo Reulecke), 50 min., Minimum stage: 12 x 10 m _ "F.A.Q."
