_ MS Schrittmacher Martin Stiefermann
	_ Biographical Information Martin Stiefermann, longtime member of the Hamburgballett and afterwards director of the ballet Kiel, founded MS Schrittmacher in 1998 mainly with dancers of the Kiel ensemble. The company created five productions, which are all part of the repertory, in one and a half years. From the season 2001/02 on he will be director of the Tanzcompagnie Oldenburg. Besides that he will keep on working with MS Schrittmacher at Dock 11.
_ Approach to Work Although the aesthetic handwriting of MS Schrittmacher varies along with its subject matters, it is recognizable in all productions. It is the search for the individual in the choreographed social context. It is mainly the search for the comical in the incidents, for the crack in the porcelain pot, for the individual¹s emotions within the social context which Stiefermann concentrates on.
_ Current Production "Wenn die Seele wackelt" At the beginning there is the world of perfect order. Clear patterns in time and space, all in line, all in tact. If one element of this perfect order falls, irritation arises. In a society which is determined by the arrangement according to structured time, the control of numbers, the fixation on schemata, people who disregard the common rhythm stand out. Compulsary action is the perverted expression of our capitulation to the dogma of time, the world of numbers; they work according to the principle of the repetition ­ and become pure madness through acceleration.
