_ Biographical Information
Felix Ruckert studied dance in Berlin, Essen, Paris and New York between 1982 and 1992. He danced with various choreographers such as Jean-François Duroure, Mathilde Monnier, Charles Cré-Ange, Wanda Golonka among others. He was a member of Pina Bauschıs Tanztheater Wuppertal from 1992 to 1994. Felix Ruckert founded his own company 1994 in Berlin and has traveled throughout the world with his own projects.
Compagnie Felix Ruckert functions as an international pick up company, around a solid knot of dancers, performers, musicians and artists. Since 1994 the work has been presented and co-produced by many European presenters.
The Company has its home base in Berlin, developing a special relationship with Dock 11, where most of the new productions are developed. Since 1998, Compagnie Felix Ruckert receives support from the Berlin Senate.

_ Approach to Work
Throughout his work Felix Ruckert questions the perception of live-performance, allowing the spectator to play an active role in the performance and confronting him/her with intense emotional feelings. This questioning inspired radical, experimental and controversial propositions that range from interactive experiences with the audience like "Hautnah", "Ring", "Schwartz" to pieces of pure choreographic research "Choreographisches Projekt", "Sbalit", which question the usual and conventional format of dance, to installations like "Stillen" which invert the parts of the audience who usually sit immobilized in a chair watching people move on a stage.

_ Current Production
"Choreographisches Projekt" (1999)
If it is Felix Ruckert's intention to push this piece towards pure choreographic research and composition, opposed to his usual interactive audience/dancer experiences ("Hautnah", "Schwartz" or "Ring"), the result is nevertheless a shoving of all the constitutive elements of a performance in a different order. Dance is shown bluntly in the first part allowing the power of pure movement to address the viewer without the usual aesthetic filters of music, light and scenography. Music and light occur in an occasionally added second part, evoking a delay in the spectatorıs conscience and asking for a higher degree of the audienceıs imaginative collaboration.

_ Future Projects
"Sex" tries to reinterpretate the issue. Felix Ruckert would like to combine the best elements of previous experiments with unconventional spectator-performer relationships in a new production: the intensity of "HAUTNAH", the social character of "RING", the subtlety of "STILLEN".
The result should be a sensual, ritualistic encounter between dancers and performers, where the distinction between action and reaction might vanish. It is about an innocent, playful, sophisticated ( and public) form of sexuality and an innovative form of intelligent entertainment.
"Sex" is organized as a process that develops its final form only in permanent confrontation with the audience.
It is staged in a lounge of comfortable chairs and beds. It evolves in a non central way. Christian Meyer Mal, who already composed for "SCHWARTZ" and "RING" approaches "Sex" in his own peculiarity, creating an untouchable and outrageous room. The cast consists of an international group of dancers and performers, amongst them several long term collaborators. .
