_ The Move Company Gisela Müller
	_ Biographical Information Gisela Müller studied mime, ballet and modern dance in Paris. She completed her degree at the School for New Dance Development in Amsterdam, and also taught there for a time. Member of various dance groups including the Joint Force Company (Oregon/USA), the Tanztheater Skoronel (Berlin) and from 1989 to 92 at Dance Berlin. She presented her own choreographies in Holland, Germany and in the USA. In 1992 she founded The Move Company. "Slow Dance and Laughter" in 1993 at the Akademie der Künste, the solo "Endkampf" (final fight) was presented there too as part of Berlin¹s application for the Olympic games. In 1995 ensemble piece "Hanging on" which was invited to the German dance platform as part of the competition of the Rencontres Choréographiques Internationales de Bagnolet. In 1996 group choreography "Connecting through"; in 1997 production of the dance video "Auszeit" (time out). The stage version of "Auszeit", a solo work for film and a dancer, was premiered in 1999 at the Theater am Halleschen Ufer. In 1998 Trio "Dialogues" following an invitation of the Centre National de Caen; first performance on the occasion of the international meeting of choreographers Europe Danse Europe. Apart from her work as choreographer Gisela Müller works as dance teacher in several dance studios in Berlin and has been a steady member of the teaching staff for the professional dance education Balance 1. Continuous cooperation with the dramaturge and dance researcher Peter Stamer.
_ Approach to Work Founded as a company for contemporary dance with an emphasis on dance theatre, The Move Company has widened their artistic field with each production. The Move Company develops the vision of an integration of artists coming from several disciplines into the choreographic and dance processes of the group. Due to the interdisciplinary approach to work the artistic direction is influenced by the study of other media which go beyond the theatrespace. Primarily the productions deal with the representations of the body which are specific to the medium as dance pieces, performances or videos.
