_ Biographical Information
After her dance education in Brussels and at the Folkwanghochschule in Essen Toula Limnaios became a member of the Folkwangtanzstudio. She has collaborated on improvisations with musicians, for instance Peter Kowaldt, Guy Bettini and others. The choreographer, the composer Ralf R. Ollertz and the light designer Franco Marri founded The Cie. Toula Limnaios in Brussels in 1995. Following an invitation from the Akademie
der Künste they transferred their main place of residence to Berlin three years ago. Performances in the Akademie
der Künste, the Tanztage im Pfefferberg, the Kryptonale and in the Theater am Halleschen Ufer followed. Since 1999 they have been working together with the group cyan which is in charge of the videos shown in the performances. Their works are presented both on German and international festivals.

_ Approach to Work
The Cie. Toula Limnaios crosses the boundaries between the worlds, which draw the audience into a magic world in between imagination and reality, poetics and anxiety. Dance, music, light and video, equal means of style of the performance, create an atmospheric kaleidoscope of moods which leaves each spectator space for his or her own associations. Raised dualities are not resolved. The Cie. Toula Limnaios
does not give any answers. It does not tell stories, but dances atmospheres.

_ Current Production
The solo "vertige" deals with the phenomenon vertigo. All the elements
of the performance - dance, music, light and video - draw the spectator into the vortex of this vertigo, which does
not let loose of the spectator. The duet "ysteres" again deals with the vertigo. However, while "vertige" ends with the total exhaustion of the protagonist, "ysteres" raises the vertigo to the point of hysterics. The group choreography "Falten der Nacht" (premiered in October 2000 in the Theater am Halleschen Ufer) has day and night as its topic. The stage turns into a living screen, out of which the dancers step out and create a fantastic kaleidoscope of episodes in between reality and imagination.
