Howard Katz Fireheart


_ Biographical Information

Howard Katz Fireheart was born in New York City, where he completed his education in classical and modern dance, acting, singing and martial arts. Education at the California Institute of the Arts; from 1982 to 92 he headed his company KOOK in NYC and a studio of the same name. Cooperation with David Parsons, Donald Byrd, Frey Faust and others.
Performances and lectures in the USA, Canada, Germany, France, Luxemburg, Italy and Switzerland. Since 1996 he has been living in Berlin and NYC, has been working as a solo artist and in cooperation with artists from various countries in interdisciplinary productions. In 1997 "Creeple", duet with Stephanie Maher; "Amsterdamned" music-dance-video with Jens Greuner, 1998: "Junk Monkey", group project with eight performers and twelve musicians; 1999 "Fake book" (trio); "Kisses" (choreography in cooperation with Stephanie Maher to a song by Howard Katz Fireheart), amongst others. The cd of his band "Post Holocaust Pop" was published in 1998 by KOOK-Label.
