_ Christina Ciupke
	_ Biographical Information Christina Ciupke has been working in Berlin as a dancer and choreographer since 1988. She is especially interested in the solo dance and in the interdisciplinary co-operation with other artists as for instance the composers Nirto Karsten Fischer and Johannes Koeninger, the dancer/choreographer Manuela Fischer and especially the photographer Gisela Dilchert, with whom she has been working continuously since 1992.
_ Approach to Work Christina Ciupke's work is an attempt to express something fundamental with the body and space. Searching and finding are fragments and interweave to form a foundation. The creation of pieces is the development of the 'one' out of the 'other'. The single piece is part of a continuous, comprehensive work, in a dialogue with one's own body. The creation of an intimate space, into which spectators enter and in which they experience a shared span of time is central. When movement reaches an intensity which transforms it into touch, the body gains presence in the senses of the audience. Body and space stir at the non-communicable.
_ Current Production "Reisende" (travellers). - The continuous interdisciplinary co-operation with Gisela Dilchert is a confrontation, a touching and a synthesis of dance and photography. The solo "Reisende" is also a product of the joint analysis by both artists of a common topic. The space is part of the action just like body and image. The movement of the body moves the image and unties the space from its embracing form. Body movements and image, set into motion by bodies, overlap each other, take over from each other, shift in opposite directions. An area of conflict comes into being and extends in between space, movement in space and view.	_ Future Projects "Im Sog" (in the vortex) (provisional title) together with Gisela Dilchert in March 2001 at Theater am Halleschen Ufer.
